Dr. Grace Wasike Namwamba is an Associate Professor in the Apparel Merchandising and Textiles at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge Louisiana. She is a highly accomplished scholar who teaches, conducts research and provides service to the community. She has received numerous grants that have gone toward acquisition of technology for teaching and research. She conducts digital textile printing research and is a member of several professional organizations. She received the US Department of Agriculture /NASULGC Teaching Excellence Award for the Southern Region in 2003 and was named Southern University Teacher of the year in 2001. She has been featured in several articles in local and regional newspapers and on TV for her accomplishments. She holds a B.Sc. from Egerton University, Kenya, an M.Ed. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Ph.D. from Iowa State University.
