In a connected world, understanding how to navigate the digital landscape responsibly is essential for individuals of all ages. Exploring the concept of digital citizenship reveals the importance of cultivating a responsible online presence in both personal and professional spheres. Through examination of digital behavior, including online etiquette, privacy, cybersecurity, and the ethical implications of our digital footprints, individuals may become empowered to engage with technology in ways that are mindful, informed, and respectful. Further exploration may foster a safer, more positive online environment. Digital Citizenship and Building a Responsible Online Presence analyzes how the ability to participate in society online affects political and economic opportunity, and how technology use matters in wages and income, civic participation, and voting. It examines the gaps in technological access among minorities and the poor and delves into the multifaceted aspects of being a responsible digital citizen. This book covers topics such as social media, ethics and law, and digital literacy, and is a useful resource for sociologists, media companies, business owners, academicians, researchers, and scientists.
