Artist contributions are coupled with a series of essays from leading scholars, critics and commentators, including The Unimagined Future (Gemma Tipton), Digital Art: An Incomplete Story (Conor McGarrigle), Archiving Ireland's Digital Art (Catherine Bourne), Digital Art & Social Inclusion (Mary Galvin), What Digital Angst Reveals (Robin Parmar), and Digital Art, Ireland, the Future (Miche�l O'Connell).

JAMES O'SULLIVAN lectures in the Department of Digital Humanitiesat University College Cork. He is the author of Towards a Digital Poetics(Palgrave Macmillan 2019), as well as the editor of several collectionsof scholarly essays, including The Bloomsbury Handbook to the DigitalHumanities (Bloomsbury 2023), Technology in Irish Literature and Culture(Cambridge University Press 2023) and Digital Art in Ireland: New Mediaand Irish Artistic Practice (Anthem Press 2021). He is the Founding Editorof Blackwater Publishing. See jamesosullivan.org for more on his work. AOIBHIE MCCARTHY is Artistic Director of Sample-Studios. She holdsa B.A. in Art History, Architectural History and English Literature fromTrinity College Dublin and M.A. in Curatorial Studies from LimerickSchool of Art and Design. She was the recipient of the Shinnors CuratorialScholarship from 2012-4, during which time she was also the EducationCurator of Limerick City Gallery of Art and eva International Biennale. Shehas undertaken project management roles as part of Galway Fringe Festival2014, Limerick City of Culture 2014, The Year of Irish Design 2015 andNational Adult Learners' Festival 2016. From 2016-2018, she was VisualArts and Outreach Manager of Garter Lane Arts Centre in Waterford, where she was also on the board of Waterford Youth Arts. From 2018-2020, she was Marketing and Development Manager of Cork International FilmFestival and the Business to Arts Fundraising Fellow.
