Prof.dr. Eric van de Luijtgaarden studied law and philosophy at Groningen University, the Netherlands. He got his Phd in social philosophy at the University of Humanistic Studies in Utrecht, the Netherlands. He worked for over 30 years as legal philosopher at different universities in the Netherlands and in Eastern European countries. He also was a depute judge at Amsterdam District Court and a business consultant in not-for-profit insititutions. He became professor at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences in 2004 and from 2011 at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. Since 2020 he combines this chair with a chair in preventive law at Maastricht University, the Netherlands.
