The European Technical Specification CEN/TS 19101:2022, “Design of Fibre-Polymer Composite Structures”, constitutes a milestone for the use of fibre-polymer composites in civil engineering works. This book comprises around 400 background reports covering the most relevant paragraphs of the Technical Specification. It provides supplementary information to the Technical Specification, justifies the options that were followed and introduces references that were considered. João R. Correia is Full Professor of Civil Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon and head of the Composites Research Group (CORE) of the research unit CERIS. Thomas Keller is Full Professor of Structural Engineering and the head of the Composite Construction Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland. Jan Knippers is Director of the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design (ITKE) and a director of the Cluster of Excellence “Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture” at the University of Stuttgart and founder of Helbig Advanced Engineering Stuttgart. J. Toby Mottram is an Emeritus Professor in the School of Engineering at The University of Warwick, UK. Carlo Paulotto is a manager in the Offshore Wind department of Ferrovial Construction, Madrid. José Sena-Cruz is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the University of Minho, Portugal, where he is also Co-Director of the Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE) and Director of the European Erasmus Mundus Master Course in Advanced Structural Analysis and Design using Composite Materials.
