I asked the question: What is life? Obviously, what we all aspire to live. So, we could define our life as a list of pre-set subjects we are expected to pass by means of a given reality test, and for many under-achieving students, like myself, that comes with a large degree of pain, suffering, misery and frustration. We struggle through each crisis hoping that one day the pain will stop. It does not. My personal opinion is that, if life is just one long ride of crisis with titbits of reward in-between, then, what the hell it 'aint worth much. Why get serious about it. Seek the fun. Be irresponsible. The magic me are the bubbles in the glass. Make money and buy happiness. At least be comfortable in the misery of it. Those pre-set subjects have us by the throat from day one. Our school years hammer the nails into the fundamental lesson framing every learning experience: Reality. This is it, kid, pay attention, the exams you write at school measure your worth.

Curriculum Life is my answer. Use this book to build your own platform of a self empowered and deliberate life. It took me many years to learn the value of my unique self, and now, through this book, you have the opportunity to kick start your journey.

Rodney St Clair Ballenden was born in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1947. In lieu of an academic career he traveled extensively through Europe, the United Sates of America and Greece. He married Colleen and returned to South Africa to farm, but the call of the wild drew him into a hermit existence placing him in extreme situations exposed to danger and the vagaries of storm and wind. From his observations on man and his relationship with the wilderness he began to write, and his books are available on the SmashWord platform as well as at Draft2Digital. Rodney now lives in Spain.
