Carrie Chambers is a crochet designer based in Ireland, she learnt to crochet in 2007 and has worked with several yarn companies including Hobbii, Knitcrate and Yarn Vibes. She is best known for her love of texture and earthy, moody tones in the pieces she creates. Carrie has amassed a large following on YouTube (@HeyCarrieCrochet), where she teaches her followers how to create modern, size inclusive crochet garments. You can find more of Carrie's free patterns on her blog (www.crochetwithcarrie.com) and Etsy page (CrochetWithC), or follow along on Instagram (@hey_carriex).
While the projects are suitable for beginners, the use of different stitches provides plenty to interest intermediate and advanced crocheters. Showcasing Carrie’s love of texture, the stitch patterns are the stars of the garments in this collection. Stitches such as waffle, herringbone, bobbles, puff and rib are used to create simple yet stylish garments. Favourite makes include the long-length Fawnmore Ribbed Cardigan; the Kingstown Sweater Vest, which combines double and treble stitches in lemon peel stitch to create a pebble-like effect; the Fanone Sweater Scarf, a scarf with sleeves that doubles as a jumper; and the ultra cosy Connemara Pocket Shawl. * Knitting magazine *
