Joy Damousi is Professor of History and ARC Laureate Fellow at the University of Melbourne. She has published widely on aspects of womens history, the aftermaths of war, and the history of migration and refugees. Her current research is on a history of child refugees and Australian internationalism during the twentieth century. She is currently the President of the Australian Academy of the Humanities and President of the Australian Historical Association. Judith Smart, adjunct professor at RMIT University, is deputy chair of the History Council of Victoria. She coedits the Victorian Historical Journal with Richard Broome, co-authored with Marian Quartly Respectable Radicals: A History of the National Council of Women of Australia 18962006, and coedited with Shurlee Swain The Encyclopedia of Women and Leadership in Twentieth-Century Australia.
