Access to safe drinking water continues to be an international concern. While some sources of contamination can be identified and removed, other contaminants appear from unknown sources. This collection of research includes studies to detect contaminants as well as reports on remediation techniques. Specific contaminants include heavy metals, pesticides, disinfection by-products, GenX, microplastics, antibiotics, and others. Analytical and environmental chemists, as well as researchers focused on water quality, will find this work valuable.

Satinder Ahuja earned his Ph.D. from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and led R&D on pharmaceutical and environmental issues as Senior Research Fellow at Novartis Corporation while simultaneously serving as Adjunct Professor at several universities. Since 1994, as President of Ahuja Consulting, he has been advising on drugs and water quality issues. He helps solve the problem of water contamination worldwide and encourages water quality research at Ahuja Academy of Water Quality. Bommanna Loganathan is Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Watershed Studies Institute at Murray State University. His research interests include distribution and temporal trends of persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic chemicals in the environment and biota. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and 35 papers in international conference proceedings. Loganathan is a recipient several teaching, research and service awards including the 2019 ACS E. Ann Nalley Volunteer Service Award, 2013 Max Carman Outstanding Teacher Award, the 2012 Karl Hussung Professorship in Chemistry, the 2010 Presidential Research Fellowship, the Sandra Flynn Professor of the year award, the 2007 MSU Distinguished Researcher award, and the Elsevier's 2007-2011 Top Cited Author Award.
