Barbara Jackson, PhD, FDBIA, is a seasoned professional, educator, and leader in the construction industry. She founded and was CEO of Design-Build Services Inc. for 12 years before transitioning to academia. She first spent 15 years at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA developing design-build education and directing the California Center for Construction Education, and then served another 9 years at the Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management at the University of Denver. In 2022, Jackson transitioned from academia and currently dedicates her efforts toward transforming leadership and culture in the AEC industry through her company Barbara Jackson LLC, offering educational programs, consulting services, leadership development, and various tailored services to construction companies across the US.
