The Committee of European Construction Economists was formed in 1979 for professional bodies representing those responsible for construction economics in the EEC and other European states. The work of the programme of the Committee has produced reports on a variety of topics, many of them planned to facilitate cross-border comparisons and improve data sharing. This volume includes the papers presented at
the first European Conference on Construction Economics (Paris 1993), which brought together delegates and speakers from all over Europe. With the Single Market now a reality and the further expansion of Europe in the offing, it is more important than ever that experience and comparative data are freely shared between construction professionals across the continenet. The Paris conference and this book will make a significant contribution to that end.
