Community and Public Health Nursing: An Active Learning Approach recognizes the increasing need for an emphasis on population-based health in nursing education and responds with content that spans from health equality and disease prevention to environmental health and global nursing roles. It features an active learning approach that integrates situational examples and learning assignments to support critical thinking and practical application.

The text includes thematic explorations of various topics such as social determinants of health, levels of prevention, health care delivery, and epidemiological principles. It integrates these topics with discussions on communicable diseases, emergency preparedness, and community nursing roles, emphasizing the practical application of concepts through evidence-based practices, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.

Developed to well prepare students as the nursing workforce continues to move from acute care to community and population-based settings, Community and Public Health Nursing is a vital resource for nursing courses and programs. It equips future nurses with the knowledge and competencies they need to work in diverse settings to sustain the nation's health.
