Chris Flodberg was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. After completing his BFA (Alberta College of Art + Design) and MFA (University of Alberta), he taught painting and drawing before becoming a full-time painter. Flodberg has been included in dozens of solo and group shows over the last two decades, including Chris Flodberg: In Review, 1990 to 2014, at the Whyte Museum in Banff (2016) and Matters of Denial at the Art Gallery of Calgary (2008). Flodberg has been represented by the Masters Gallery for more than a decade. His paintings are in the collections of many prestigious institutions, including the City of Calgary, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Glenbow Museum, the University of Alberta, Edmonton General Hospital, the University of Calgary and the Nickle Arts Museum.
