The life cycle of cicadas told beautifully through an exciting story set in the Australian bush.

On a hot summer's day, deep in the Australian bush, two cicada nymphs hatch and embark on an adventure of survival, friendship, and resilience. After burrowing underground to escape a hungry wasp, the pair reemerge after seven years to find that more danger awaits. Can the two friends overcome the challenges they face, through the power of loyalty and support, and finally find a safe place to call home? This is a journey filled with suspense, heart-warming adventure, and beautifully designed illustrations that also teaches children the life cycle of this wonderous insect.

Audrey Crowfoot lives in New South Wales, Australia. She grew up exploring the bush, building cubbies, and climbing trees. Audrey appreciates the simple things in life and is happiest when camping in the bush, gazing at a starry night sky, or walking barefoot along a sandy beach. Audrey hopes her stories will foster a love for the natural environment, curiosity, and a sense of wonder. Katherine Smith is an illustrator, designer, and artist based in Sydney, Australia. Originally trained in design, she later studied fine art, which naturally led her to illustration as a convergence of both disciplines. She earned a Master's Degree in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and her artworks are sold internationally. In her spare time, Katherine enjoys swimming, free-diving, and scuba diving.
