Joseph Jacobs (1854-1916) was an Australian folklorist and translator who published several collections of fairy tales including English Fairy Tales, Celtic Fairy Tales and Indian Fairy Tales. During his lifetime, he was regarded as one of the world's leading experts on English and Irish folklore.
