The volume also includes exclusive essays by industry experts and noted historians that explore the history of the Bulgari family starting with the founder, Sotirio Bulgari, who immigrated to Italy from the Balkans in the late nineteenth century. The family's close relationships with members of the international elite are also examined. Many of the world's most famous women have been Bvlgari clients, including Ingrid Bergman, Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn, and Anita Ekberg. Pieces once owned by Elizabeth Taylor are included in the book, and many of the jewels featured have never been previously exhibited.
