As an educator, researcher, and a mom who has personally guided my own children from a Montessori school into a traditional high school, I've spent years asking one critical question. In our beautiful Montessori environments, we work so hard to cultivate independence, curiosity, and a deep love of learning in our students. But what happens when they leave our care and take the leap into a system that operates on a completely different set of rules? My doctoral research was dedicated to answering that question by listening to the real stories of students and families who have made this journey. What I found was a profound philosophical and structural gap between these two worlds-a gap that creates real challenges for our children. That's why I'm so excited to share my work with you, Building the Bridge: Enabling Montessori Adolescents Transition to Traditional High School. This isn't just about identifying problems; it's about finding solutions that align perfectly with this year's conference pillars. We will explore how to create Systems that Work-practical systems of communication and preparation to ease this transition. And we'll focus on how Adults who Lead-that's us, the guides, the administrators, and the parents-can empower our students with the specific tools they need to thrive. We'll discuss how the amazing skills they learn with us can be both a superpower and, surprisingly, a point of friction. This book will move beyond theory to provide a toolkit of effective strategies for your classrooms and your families. The work we do is vital for fostering human flourishing. I believe that ensuring our students can carry that flourishing spirit with them into any environment is a crucial part of that mission.Thank you.Dr. Michelle Ravinwww.linkedin.com/in/dr-michelle-ravin-017378173
