Sid Krimsky was born in Brooklyn and his family moved to Baltimore during WWII and returned to Brooklyn where he attended public schools. He tutored math to high school students during high school. He majored in engineering/physics, minored in Math and graduated from CCNY, moved to California for two years and then to Massachusetts for the next 53 years where he worked in high tech. He earned an MSME and MBA from Northeastern University and a professional engineering license from the State Board of Engineers. . He married Dorothy Goldstein in 1966 and they have three children Alec, Naomi, and Jonathan. He published his first book From Brooklyn, NY to Brookline, MA in March 2020 which is an autobiography that describes his participation in national defense and social justice in Brookline. He and Dorothy moved to Long Island in 2013. His second book, Untaught Math reflected his experience as a tutor in the Boston Public Schools for three years and tutoring math to high school students in Long island. The book reflects math not taught to high school students. As part of his MBA studies at Northeastern University, he enrolled in Prof. Heidi Vernon's course Cultural Aspects of International Business and wrote a paper about Ideology and Management Issues in the Soviet union. That prompted his interest about the challenges facing immigrants, including his parents and grandparents. That prompted his third book Leaving Mother Russia. Sid and his wife selected new primary care physicians in Long Island and was advised to take blood tests bi-annually. The test results had many markers that were indecipherable so he decided to do research and find out what the markers mean and the consequences if the test results were out of the recommended range. Doctors do not sit and teach their patients unless there is a medical condition requiring a response. That is what prompted him to write this book about blood testing. Data comes from certified blood testing labs and other sources such as the Mayo Clinic, all available on the Internet.
