Dawn Freshwater is Professor of Mental Health and Primary Care at IHCS Bournemouth University and is leading the development of an Academic Research Centre in Practice with North and Southwest Dorset NHS Trusts. Dr Sian E Maslin-Prothero is Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Southampton. Sian has worked in academia, education, clinical nursing and midwifery in a variety of settings in both the United Kingdom and overseas.

...a thorough, user-friendly and attractively presented reference book. I found that, unlike some other dictionaries, it contained an entry for almost every word and/or term that I looked up whilst 'road-testing' it. My first test was to look up 'appendicular skeleton', a term that was unfamiliar to me when I came across it whilst reviewing a paper; the dictionary explained it. Journal of Clinical Nursing An essential text on every ward and every nurse's book shelf ... I would go so far as to recommend that it is the first book that student nurses should buy with their meagre book allowance!
