Book Reviews1. The outstanding leadership lessons emerging out of Biblical wisdom is a valuable contribution to the field of leadership. Written in an easy-to-read style and drawing lessons from the lives of Biblical characters-both triumphs as well as failures-the author illuminates timeless leadership principles. The reflection-inducing questions at the end of each chapter facilitates the reader to pause, discuss with other leaders and find personal applications. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to leaders and emerging leaders across the globe. Dr. Aby Alexandar is the Executive Director of the Christian Institute of Management (CIM), Chennai, India. 2. I was thrilled to read this book on Biblical leadership, where Dr. Swamidass draws powerful lessons from the lives of David, Moses, Peter, Paul, Joseph of Arimathea and the Samaritan woman that impress me. What touched me most were the lives of Moses and Aaron, two very different or incompatible people. The hard lesson we can learn from Moses and Aaron is that God can make even incompatible teams work together and accomplish God's purpose if all the team members are obedient to God, just as Moses and Aaron were. If each of us can emulate that kind of teamwork and leadership at home as well as in ministry, there will likely be fewer divorces and fewer divisions. Mrs. Hephzibah Stephen is a retired engineer and entrepreneur, author of a weekly web-based devotional, Living by Grace...Living in Hope, and author of the recent book, Engaging with God's Word (2025), a 365-day devotional firmly grounded in the Bible. 3. The author writes, ""We learn to be effective and fruitful leaders by doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong."" So true but so challenging to live out. Help is discovered in these pages! Each chapter in this thought-provoking book provides a unique and compelling leadership principle grounded in Biblical truth. Life changing lessons on leadership await your discovery. If you want to grow in your leadership potential and fruitfulness this is a must read. Pastor Mark Teyler, Founder/President, 360Serve. 4. As the founder and CEO of an international mission organization, I was thrilled to see the author make a connection between biblical values and leadership of entrepreneurial endeavors. To be an effective leader, one must follow a roadmap of integrity and passion. As the author parallels these virtues, he is clearly stating that the Bible contains many examples of passionate leadership that comes from following a calling to a particular goal that is based on one's God-given abilities. This author is presenting a guide to every successful business venture. This is a ""must read""! John Baxter owned and ran an insurance company as CEO, was head of his church's global mission program, and now is the founder and head of an intercontinental missionary organization serving tribal adults and children. 5. As a reader of scores of leadership books over the past 50 years, I have found it rare to find a book that reveals the failures and vulnerabilities of a gifted leader along with their strengths. Dr. Swamidass draws from Biblical Characters in both the Old and New Testaments to uncover principles of leadership, often discovered after a season of doubt or apparent failure - showing all of us that leaders are not necessarily born, but made. I highly recommend this book for any woman or man that desires to finish well. Pastor Doug Tegner has served in executive leadership for a national non-profit as well as in senior pastoral leadership over the past 50 years.
