Despite millennia of proximity to, and consumption of products from, the Cannabis plant, we have an incomplete understanding of its behavioural impact. This volume presents current research summaries in three sections, focussing on contextualisation of the work at molecular and cellular levels, and behavioural paradigms for investigating Cannabis and cannabinoid preparations in non-human animals and humans. The contributors are leaders in their respective fields and internationally recognisable.

The book contents are unique in the progression that it encompasses the molecular understanding of cannabinoids through animal models of behaviour into humans. It reflects a resurgence in attempts to understand the potential therapeutic benefits of Cannabis and cannabinoid preparations. This is evidenced by the increasing number of countries/states where Cannabis-based products for medicinal use have been approved, as well as some notable locations where non-medicinal consumption of Cannabis preparations has been legalised.
