Bear has plans to change his world, one space adventure at a time, and discovers just how far you can go with someone by your side.

Bear is different. When he dreams of going into space, the other bears laugh. But Bear has plans to change his world, one space adventure at a time. In space he feels at home, but also alone, until something extraordinary happens. He discovers just how far he can go with someone by his side.

A richly imagined story that celebrates difference, self-belief and the way friendship and acceptance can empower someone to build a better world.

After finishing a teaching degree, Deb Abelah went to Africa where she was caught in a desert sandstorm, harassed by monkeys and thrown in jail twice! She's written 25 books including Max Remy Superspy, Grimsdon, Teresa A New Australian and The Most Marvellous Spelling Bee Mystery. Her first picture book is Wolfie, An Unlikely Hero. Deb has won awards for her books but mostly hopes to be as brave as her characters. http://www.deborahabela.com Marjorie Crosby-Fairall is an internationally published illustrator of over twenty children's books. She has loved picture book illustrations since she was a little girl. She often escaped to the library to pour over books and examine the illustrations in detail. Encouraged by her creative family, she gained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. Her books appear on the Premier's Reading Challenge lists and have been shortlisted and won awards, including the CBCA Eve Pownall Award for her first picture book. She still goes to the library to admire the picture books. Marjorie is the Regional Illustrator Coordinator for SCBWI Australia East & New Zealand. Website: www.crosby-fairall.com
