G.A. Grant, born and raised in Charleston, SC, and later Jacksonville, NC, has been a passionate guitarist since the age of 16. Though self-taught, with no formal musical training, he has developed into an intermediate-level musician, initially influenced by heavy metal, but also drawn to neo-soul and RnB. He has a particular love for the styles of Earl Klugh and George Benson, as well as 80s and 90s hard rock/metal. Grant's diverse background also includes a diploma in electronic repair and a degree in cooking. His book, Basic Shapes for the Guitar, reflects his life-long journey of exploring and mastering the guitar.
