Gifted to my friend's son on his birthday as I have seen him interested in Parkour. He was very happy with the book. The pictures are great and give you great insight into the training process. The set up and instruments they use give you a good idea on what to look for with respect to training spots. Recommended Avi Parkour is very new to me. It came highly recommended by a friend. I then decided to look for books related to it and came across Fury's text. This is very interesting stuff. The book itself is easy to read win very good illustrations. It is definitely a great way to improve the human body through various actions/activities. I'm so glad I came across this! Jerther This book is an excellent primer for anyone who wants to get into parkour as a hobby. All the basic moves are given in great detail, with pictures for easier understanding. Parkour is a great way to stay in shape because it works all the muscles and requires a great deal of endurance, balance and flexibility. I can't think of a better way to stay in shape. 'Basic Parkour' will tell you everything you need to know. From how to land safely to running up a wall (how is that even possible?), this book spells it out in a clear, concise manner. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is either interested in parkour or is looking for a fun and exciting way to stay in shape. William V After I purchased this book I noticed a review that mentioned how short the actual book was. True that. It's about 35 pages including the covers and the index which for some reason exists at both the beginning and end of the book. HOWEVER, this book is an excellent little package full of useful knowledge. Each page or so contains instructions for one move, jump, climb, etc. along with hand drawn illustration(s). This is the information you would get if your friend who does parkour took you to the park to teach you the basics. It's straight forward with no flowery extras. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to start free running but doesn't have anyone to teach them. It's good, solid basics. Thank you. Andrew Hubbard It a good start for someone is new to parkour. William Jokels I had no idea what Parkour was until reading this wonderfully written doctrine of the sport. Mr. Fury takes us through a very intricately coordinated account of the multiple techniques involved in learning the art of Parkour. He makes you look at your surroundings in a whole different light, every angle and curve becomes a new surface to run up or vault over. If you are at all interested in participating in this sport then I would highly recommend this book to you. Go for it, have some fun!! LHarrison
