Dr Pol Lloveras is an associate professor at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Spain, where he specialises in high-pressure techniques for the analysis of barocaloric effects. He has contributed to identifying for the first time several excellent barocaloric material families, such as ferroelectric materials, superionic conductors, plastic crystals and layered hybrid perovskites, and enjoys close collaborations with several top research groups around the world.
