Few moments in history have proven as timelessly fascinating as the lawless Golden Age of Piracy, which was largely played out in the Caribbean of the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. In this time of rebellion, fortune, intrigue, and adventure, Blackbeard stands as one of the most fearsome captains to have ever sailed the seas. Now, as the latest historical figure to take center stage in the Assassin’s Creed® franchise, Blackbeard joins the ranks of Edward Kenway—father of Haytham Kenway and grandfather of Connor—as they navigate troubled island waters and carve out their destinies. Thoughtfully crafted to resemble an authentic pirate artifact, this illustrated journal delivers a unique insider’s view into the world of the game through fascinating entries that provide a firsthand account of the day--to--day lives of the characters. This one--of--a--kind graphic novel—featuring beautifully etched illustrations and portraits, wanted posters, detailed ship’s logs and maps, newspaper clippings, Letters of Marque, and more—brings the bold worlds of Blackbeard and Kenway strikingly to life.

Reviews for Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag: Blackbeard: The Captain's Log

Like [Blackbeard] himself, the book is full of history, tall tale, and full-to-bursting with charm I really enjoyed the authenticity that Golden put into her work Even amongst the hyper-glossy higher-production valued art books, there is a great deal of filler or dead space. Not so in this piece. Part art book and part fictional journal, Blackbeard: The Lost Journal should be welcome in any collector s pile of treasure. Gaming Trend The book easily stands on its own as a fascinating graphic novel, with beautiful illustrations and lots of fun removable extras, such as a wanted poster, playing cards, a map, letters and more. Wink Books Blackbeard: The Lost Journal portrays Edward Thatch in such a human way and does an excellent job filling some holes in the story of the game, we'll still reward this book, that looks like it's straight from the game, with the maximum score. Meer dan Games a surprisingly beautiful (and in some ways historically accurate) workReaders do not have to have played or even seen the related Assassin s Creed game to enjoy this book, but it should also be a much treasured piece in the collection of those who love the game as well.
