""I love the books to help children cope with medical conditions, painful treatments and to build psycho/social/emotional healing. The series is really compelling, serious, cheerful and inviting. A must for caregivers, hospital and clinic libraries, public libraries for kids with special needs, school libraries and support groups! I see why this is so important"" - Jonathan Freedman, Writer, Pulitzer Prize ""The beautiful, bright, fun illustrations and art add great mood changing distraction and substance to help make the child's medical encounter less fearful and even fun The Rhymes for Wellness book series address some of the most common fears experienced by children when they encounter an experience involving an illness or procedure and often simultaneously, someone in the medical community. In A Brave Cat Named La Matt book, the cat, who has lost his hair from chemo, reminds us, parents, and the children who are bullied, that they can be brave and stand up to those that are insensitive and cruel, and that trusted adults will have their backs. Anna's Camel gives hope to those children that are struggling with illnesses, and also helps remind us, parents, and children that even if our bodies can't function, we have the ability to go anywhere and do anything with our imagination, an essential tool in combatting prolonged illnesses or in changing bad moods anytime. Sam Iguana reminds us, parents, and children how comforting a decorated bandage can be to ease the fear and pain of a shot or injury. ."" - Lisa D.
