Kathleen Scavone, M.A., is an educator, potter, poet and photographer. She was selected ""Lake County Teacher of the Year by the Lake County Office of Education, and was chosen as one of ten state finalists in the ""California State Teacher of the Year Awards"" by the California Department of Education.She is a freelance writer for The Press Democrat, Napa Valley Register, News From Native California, etc. She is the author of ""People of the Water- a novella of the events leading to the Bloody Island Massaacre of 1850"", and has also written curriculum for the Emmy Award-winning documentary, ""A Walk Through Time- the story of Anderson Marsh"".
