The age of Ambient Warfare is upon us, involving us whether we like it or not.

Ambient Future is a comprehensive and absorbing look at the impact of the ambient cultural influence and its ability to bypass critical thinking to instigate massive change.

Charting its emergence as a genre of music, Dr Bardoe argues that ambient practice is a mindset and a transferrable set of approaches that has impacted every aspect of global societies, cultures, organisations, the psychology of the self and group, and how we interact with the most complex information environment in history.

Drawing upon two decades of experience as a military Information Effects and Influence professional, and extensive work in corporate, political and private sectors, he looks at how ambient approaches now inform journalism, marketing, organisational constructs, information sources, surveillance culture and embedded technologies, and how it is used to both challenge and defend dominant narratives.

Dr Bardoe looks at the ambient approaches of ideological groups, political campaigning, social change movements and corporate marketing, and suggests the ambient future will be a volatile mix of utopian and dystopian possibilities, before concluding that ambient warfare is upon us, involving us whether we like it or not.

Ambient Future helps the reader to better understand a fast-changing future that is complex, counter intuitive and challenging.
