After so many successful missions of Major and Bon-too on Earth and for Alien Hostiles. These fights brought them the highest civilian honor by the US government. They have taken charge to stand against the evil progressions until the day they landed on a very different but adventurous task. It's about the evacuation of some special soldiers working to find the ISIS training camps in Afghanistan. These soldiers became out of reach by the CIA. So, they need Major and Bon-too to make it possible with their super-tech gadgets.
The mission ended surely but it ignited a fight inside the Major which made him disturbed to the point where he started to think of himself as a loser. The death of Conners left the Major in a deep sorrow that he decided to take long-term leave from all of his heroic activities.
But as far as Bon-too and other people know, he was always a hero and a hero have to revive to save his country and his fellows. Bon-too asked Major to back into the armor and take the charge again. Because it's never too late for Major to get back in action.
