Reza Gharoie Ahangar is an Assistant Professor of Business Analytics at Lewis University in the Chicago area-Romeoville. Dr. Ahangar has a strong educational background; he earned a B.Sc. in Business Management, an MBA in Finance, an MSc in Finance, an MSc in Business Analytics, and a Ph.D. in Management Science with a minor in Economics. Dr. Ahangar is a proud member of prestigious professional organizations such as the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI). In addition to his academic work, Dr. Ahangar has significantly contributed to his field through publications. He has authored ten books, book chapters, and more than fifty journals and conference publications. His technical publications have received over 750 citations on Google Scholar, a testament to his impact on the business analytics community. Before joining Lewis University in August 2022, Dr. Ahangar was a teaching assistant and instructor at The University of North Texas for seven years. His dedication and expertise have led to many notable accomplishments, including his latest achievement as Editor-in-Chief of the book “Advancement in Business Analytics Tools for Higher Financial Performance,” published by IGI Global in August 2023. Stephen Sherwin is an Assistant Professor of Justice, Law, and Public Safety Studies at Lewis University. Dr. Sherwin is a highly experienced law enforcement professional with a comprehensive educational background. He holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Saint Xavier University, a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from Illinois Institute of Technology, and an Ed. D. in Leadership in Adult and Higher Education from Aurora University. With a career spanning over 38 years with the Chicago Police Department (CPD), Dr. Sherwin has been a valuable member of the force as a supervisor for 20 years. Throughout his time with CPD, Dr. Sherwin acquired diverse skills and knowledge, including being trained as a Peer Support Member and serving as a Commanding Officer for CPD recruit training. He is also a trained mediator and a Chicago and National Association of Dispute Resolution (ADR) Chapters member. Dr. Sherwin has utilized his expertise in mediation and conflict resolution to train mediators, develop mediation centers, and provide conflict resolution and mediation training to police departments and civilians. Additionally, he has lent his expertise as an expert witness in court mediations. As a researcher, Dr. Sherwin focuses on subjects such as higher education to improve police/citizen relations, improving policing methods, and the benefits of mediation and conflict resolution. His extensive knowledge and experience in law enforcement and his academic background make him a valuable contributor to the field. Dr. Sherwin is dedicated to promoting police ethics and finding ways to improve relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
