The year 2023 marks the 100th birth anniversary of E.F. Codd (19 August 1923 - 18 April 2003), a computer scientist, who while working for IBM invented the relational model for database management, the theoretical basis for relational databases and relational database management systems. He made other valuable contributions to computer science but the relational model, a very influential general theory of data management, remains his most mentioned, analyzed, and celebrated achievement. Dr. Ashok Kumar is currently working as Professor in Lovely Professional University, Punjab, India. He is PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Thapar University, Punjab, India. He did Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering from Punjabi University, Patiala, India. He has 20+ years of teaching and research experience. He has filed 20 patents, out of that three patents have been granted. He has published several research articles in International Journals and Conferences of repute. His current areas of research interest include Cloud/Fog/Edge Computing, Internet of Things, and Machine learning. Further, he is supervising 4 PhD scholars and 2 ME students. Dr. Geeta Sharma is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Applications, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, India. She has received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in full time from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab, India. She has received her master’s degree from the same University. She has 9 years of teaching and research experience. She has more than 25 research publications in International Journals and conferences. Her research is published in reputed SCI journals like Springer, Elsevier, and Taylor and Francis. She is an active reviewer in Springer and IEEE. She has 6 filed patents.
