This book presents the story of a pastor and his family. God called them to grow a church in a spiritually dark and needy place where the people were influential and affluent. It's not meant to be an abnormal or exceptional story, but one to which every Jesus-follower can relate. This is a down-to-earth account of how God responds to faith and uses pain and adversity to fulfill his purposes in ordinary and extraordinary ways.
