A Life of Wellness through Kinesiology: Health and Fitness for Young Adults helps young adults live healthier lives and develop plans for both acute and chronic health needs. The book provides instruction on basic health concepts and presents scientifically relevant information on exercise, nutrition, and general health issues.

The first chapters discuss familiar topics such as body composition, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility. Students benefit from clear explanations of why each topic is important, and they gain specific information in new areas such as the importance of the body's core, the role of genetics in shaping the body, and using FITT to develop appropriate exercise programs.

Later chapters address positive and negative stress, chronic disease and its management, acute health threats including drug and alcohol consumption, and how to assess behavior and plan for prevention.

The second edition features labs with updated formulas, new information from the CDC, and fresh topics like dieting, dealing with diet trends, and exercise trends. The new edition includes expanded content on human sexuality and self-identity.

A Life of Wellness through Kinesiology is an excellent text for health or wellness classes intended for young adults learning how to maintain their current health and plan for a strong future.
