Connie Amaden-Crawford is past President of Fashion Patterns by Coni which is now owned by Islander Sewing Systems. She is a licensed designer for CSS Industries --IG Design Group who produces her patterns under the Butterick label. Connie is also a member of the American Sewing Guild’s Sewing Hall of Fame, VIP Woman of the Year 2014–2015 by the Associated Sewing and Design Professionals (ASDP). She is a nationally and internationally recognized lecturer, fashion specialist, educator, and author of sewing DVDs and sewing and pattern textbooks, including A Guide to Fashion Sewing, The Art of Fashion Draping, and Patternmaking Made Easy. A former instructor of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angles, California, her professional experience also includes positions as a designer, design consultant, patternmaker, and grader in the Los Angeles garment industry. Connie is a member of the Australian Sewing Guild, National Association of Professional Women, the American Sewing Guild, International Textile and Apparel Association, and Associated Sewing and Design Professionals (ASDP). Connie is a graduate of LATTC College and received her teaching credentials from University of California Los Angeles.
