Et Dukkehjem (A Doll's House) is, quite simply, the most performed play in history.
It is a three-act play in prose by Henrik Ibsen which critically deals with the suffocating norms of a 19th century marriage. However the theme goes beyond this and is far more universal, namely how can each and every individual find out exactly who they are.
Here Ibsen's original text is presented side-by-side with Robert Farquharson Sharp's translation.
