Raised in a working-class family in Southeast London during the 1950s and 1960s, Brian Holloway attended the Roger Manwood Comprehensive School before embarking on a career in the finance and commercial sectors of Industry. He subsequently worked with the Civil Service for forty-one years, mostly in procurement, before retiring due to an increasing hearing loss, a disability he had contended with from an early age. Reflecting on his childhood, he recalls at the age of nine narrowly escaping a fatal accident when two cars collided at a crossroad junction at the bottom of a steep hill, causing a black Jaguar to somersault several times before coming to rest barely a few yards in front him. Is it possible that the course of his life could have changed on that day through a small intervention by those who are known to accompany him throughout his life? He is married to Rita, who comes from a family of spiritual mediums, with whom he has worked on A Collection of Conversations with Spirits. They have travelled together extensively and share a deep connection through their lives as soul mates, having been together for over fifty years in this existence.
