Born West Auckland 1963, Denese Sheree has lived in somewhat remote places most of her life, and grown food to get by in the sand of the Bay of Plenty coast, the high country with gravel soil and hard frosts and the Far North with heavy clay and high humidity. At 40 years old, Denese had 2 children, so the food production had to greatly increase. She was asked by many to write of her experiences and knowledge. She has a passion for using what we have using only simple tools, getting to know our environment and seeing what we have at hand to do what needs to be done, to be adaptable, and follow in the footsteps of the early settlers.
A Change of Season is beautifully crafted with wisdom and knowledge Denese has gathered through the years from her personal experience of cultivating, planting and harvesting with the land. It is overflowing with gems of information that could be followed in a step by step way for preparing and planting your vege patch or as a quick refence for gathering info about a particular plant, month, moon, composting, harvesting etc A Book written from the heart, that will be loved by many - Falesha Stocker I've only gone through the first few pages but have already taken away loads of helpful tips on planning my garden and other helpful growing ideas.
