""In Jim's book, you will read personal stories from some of our military of what happened to them on that horrific day. Although this is just a tiny sliver of military sharing, it is representative of the thousands of service members who gave their all to serve and protect our great nation. Salute to Service is a collection of stories to read, reflect, and give thanks to those who gave so much.""

Brad Wenstrup

U.S. Army Colonel, 1998-2022

Congressman, 2013-2025

9:11

When you read that, instantly that horrific day twenty-four years ago takes centerstage.

September 11th, 2001.

Everyone can instantly recall where they were, who they were with, what they were doing, and who they spoke to that day.

All Americans were tethered together twenty-four years ago, on a day that forever changed America.

From civilians to first responders, to military-all can explain in detail what happened to them. It doesn't matter if you were in New York, or in Texas, everyone took a phone call, or placed a phone call that day. All checked in on loved ones, neighbors, co-workers, watched the news in-depth that day, and asked themselves what can I do to help? Strangers became friends, because that's what Americans do-we help....

Reading that passage, where were you? What were you doing? We all can recall that day, the day after, the week after and the months after.

Salute to Service is a collection of stories of our military, and how they recall their personal day, what transpired next, and how September 11th impacted their career, personal life, and their family for days, months and years following 9/11. And, still to this day.

We must always remember what took place twenty-four years ago-the sacrifice of so many, the bravery of our first responders, the unity of our country, and the commitment of our service members who gave their all to protect this country.

Salute is a sign of respect.

Salute to Service is a sign of respect for all military members who give 100% to defend this country 24/7, all year around, for years and years to come.

When we see the time 9:11, which we are given 730 times to see in a year, a.m. and p.m. reflect on September 11th, 2001. Next year it will be the 25th year, in 26 years it will be the 50th year.

Always Remember.
