A seemingly inexplicable magic takes over the lives of three generations of women in this gripping and romantically steamy novel sure to captivate readers of At the Coffee Shop of Curiosities and The Change.

Leeann Wu's hands have started glowing at the most inconvenient times, and the single mother and midwife doesn't know why. Could it be perimenopause? A hallucination brought on by a lack of sleep? On top of that concerning development, her daughter is off to university in a few months, her tenuous relationship with her ob-gyn mother is in peril of cracking, and she's attracted the attention of a younger man who sees far more than she's comfortable with. Her hands, glowing or not, are already full.

But as widespread insomnia plagues the town and life-threatening accidents begin to pile up, Leeann discovers the glow is not an anomaly at all-rather, she's part of a long line of women who possess a power unlike anything Leeann's ever known. Yet, even with the cryptic clues left by her great aunt before her untimely death, Leeann has no idea how to use her new skills.

With her town in imminent danger, Leeann doesn't have time to waste. She'll need to make peace with her magical heritage and do whatever it takes to find out if her glow means something more-before it's too late.

Readers who loved Practical Magic will find lots to love in The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu.

Reviews for The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu: A Novel

Praise for The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu: “The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu absolutely shines! Featuring shimmering magic, strong female characters, a captivating romance, and a touch of haunting suspense, Mindy Hung has crafted a memorable novel about the power that comes from recognizing you’re good enough—extraordinary, even—just the way you are.” —Heather Webber, USA Today bestselling author of Midnight at the Blackbird Café “The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu is wise, hopeful, powerful, and—yes—incandescent. I couldn’t put it down. Identity and history, the stories we tell and the ghosts we carry, and the scars we know mark us juxtaposed with those that made those who raised us. Mothers and daughters. All of life’s complications and the terrifying beauty of our choices. Mindy Hung has written a luminous story about the bright, hot midlife of a woman who could be anyone and yet is most perfectly herself, at last. I’ll be thinking about this book for a long time.” —Hazel Beck, author of Small Town, Big Magic “The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu by Mindy Hung was like reading a wish that came to life. This romantic contemporary fantasy gives a refreshing look at what happens when a woman carves her own path, despite ghosts of the past. A mesmerizing tale of legacy, secrets, and magic, The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu deserves your immediate attention. I loved every bit of it.” —Nichole Perkins, author of Sometimes I Trip on How Happy We Could Be “The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu captures both the shocking transformation and sexiness of midlife and the raw power and brutality of women’s desire, magic, and relationships. This novel literally glows with tension, and readers will be breathless with anticipation to see how Leeann Wu wields her dangerous gift during one hot and sleepless small-town summer. Perfect for fans of Miranda July’s On All Fours and Michelle’s Zauner’s memoir Crying in H Mart, Mindy Hung’s The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu offers a magical, sexy, midlife midwife for readers to fall in love with.” —Annie Mare, author of Cosmic Love at the Multiverse Hair Salon “The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu was one of my most-anticipated reads of the year, and it absolutely wowed me. Every page was beautifully written and perfectly observed. With this book, Mindy Hung instantly positions herself as a major voice in women's fiction.” —Emma Barry, author of Bad Reputation
