Stan Lee was an American comic book writer, editor, and publisher who became one of the most influential figures in the history of comics. He is best known for co-creating iconic superheroes such as Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Iron Man, the Hulk, and many others while at Marvel Comics. Lee helped transform Marvel into a leading force in popular culture by introducing complex, relatable characters and a shared comic universe. Later in life he served as chairman emeritus of Marvel and pursued other creative projects through his company POW! Entertainment. Lee passed away on November 12, 2018 at age 95.
