“Nestor Gomez is a brilliant storyteller. His stories are charming, funny, and wise. Rescued Me is a collection I'll read again and again whenever I need to get in touch with my heart.” — José Olivarez, Author of Promises of Gold “Nestor’s writing brings levity to the times we are currently living in. In a world that often feels weighed down by grief and uncertainty, his stories offer us a mental break—a chance to breathe, to laugh, and to remember the joy that still exists all around us. This book is a reminder that great writing is not just about naming our struggles but about celebrating life itself.” — Yosimar Reyes, Santa Clara County Poet Laureate
