A forbidden love story set against the backdrop of 1950s America and Beirut.

First-generation Lebanese-American George Lahoud dreams of a life beyond his family's market, but duty calls him home to care for his ailing father. He marries Eleanor, a picture-perfect match, yet their honeymoon in Beirut ignites a hidden desire when George meets Andros, a captivating war veteran and painter.

Torn between obligation and longing, George grapples with his identity in a world of cultural expectations and forbidden love. Will he choose the familiar comfort of family or risk everything for a chance at true happiness? A poignant tale of self-discovery, Waiting for Beirut explores the complexities of love, identity, and the courage to defy expectations. Perfect for readers seeking historical fiction with LGBTQ+ themes.
