Artist Michael Allred established himself as a leading creative force in the industry with his creation MADMAN, which earned him three Eisner Award nominations and a Harvey Award win for best new series. He first came to Marvel in 2001, helping to relaunch the pop-inspired and acclaimed X-FORCE(later X-STATIX). He illustrated THE GOLDEN PLATES, an adaptation of The Book Of Mormon, and began a new MADMAN series, MADMAN ATOMIC COMICS, for IMAGE COMICS. Allred and Neil Gaiman created the METAMORPHO story in the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning WEDNESDAY COMICS, while his DC/VERTIGO collaboration with Chris Roberson, iZOMBIE, was adapted into a TV series. He returned to Marvel with FF, and then SILVER SURFER, and revisited beloved X-STATIX characters in THE X-CELLENT. Allred is also an accomplished filmmaker, actor, and singer/guitarist for THE GEAR. Chris Stevens is a multiple Eisner award-winning editor & writer. Color-blind Michael Allred is more than lucky to have the Eisner Award-winning colorist Laura Allred to light up his work and life. She lent her talents to MADMAN as colorist, letterer, and book designer, and their highly successful collaboration has continued across many titles. Together, they head up the company AAA POP COMICS. They look forward to taking a much-needed vacation in the near future.
I wouldn’t be in comics if it wasn’t for Mike Allred. -- Matt Fraction Allred’s art has a unique strength and clarity, which pairs modern comic aesthetics with classic four-color designs. -- Superhero Hype Love pours through on every page, in every conversation, in every endeavor he puts his mind and heart into. It’s why I can’t wait to work with him again—or to pick up his next comic—or to dive into this book! -- Dan Slott
