Chanan Beizer has had a varied career including computer programmer, filmmaker, director for network sports productions, and graphic novel writer/creator. His script for The Golem of Venice Beach was the winner of the very first ScreenCraft Cinematic Book contest for graphic novels in 2018 and the published Book 1 was named best graphic novel in 2023 by Rue Morgue Magazine. Returning as the main artist, Vanessa Cardinalli (Destiny, NY), continues in her vibrant style to expand on the world of The Golem of Venice Beach. From start to finish, from Book 1 to Book 2, Vanessa has performed a herculean task, with over 260 total pages of art. Herculean indeed! Renowned Scottish illustrator, Frank Quitely (New X-Men, We3, Batman and Robin) showcases the Golem in present day Venice Beach in a thrilling wrap-around cover that is suitable for framing (IMHO). Jae Lee (Seven Sons, Batman/Superman) and colorist June Chung provide a four-page flashback sequence that completes the emotional depiction of the Golem’s resurrection during World War Two that began in Book 1. David Mack (Daredevil, New Avengers), co-creator of Marvel Comics character Echo, creates a unique six-page vision quest sequence of existential exploration. Chris Stevens is a multiple Eisner award-winning editor & writer.
A truly legendary creative team. Fascinating. Jewish-Czech folklore meets Santa Muerte, in a high stakes, bloodsoaked drama about family, heritage, and the past coming back to haunt you.--Samuel Sattin I love Chanan's bold reinterpretation of such an historically significant cultural icon. He's created a Golem for the 21st Century.--Bill Sienkiewicz Thrilling! A monster you can't help rooting for! --Helene Wecker
