Wilfred W. Labiosa, PhD, is the CEO of Waves Ahead, a non-profit organization that focuses on supporting the development and transformation of LGBT+ individuals and older adults in Puerto Rico from its five community centers. Wilfred has been a community leader and advocate for the last thirty years working in the public health field with the Latino, LGBT+, and migrant communities. He has published research and co-authored books on the LGBT+ Latino community and mental health field. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Wilfred graduated with a PhD from Simmons University, School of Social Work, a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University.
