Keep up with the Duncan family down South as we travel to New Orleans in The Family Business 7.

Keep up with the Duncan family down South as we travel to New Orleans in The Family Business 7.

Operated by the same family for more than a century, Midnight Blues may be fun for the locals and the tourists, but as of late, the club hasn't been fun for its owner, Big Shirley Duncan, or her son Marquis, descendants of the original proprietors. The pair finds themselves in the middle of a turf war between local politicians, developers, and a ruthless underworld boss, Jean LeBlanc, who is looking to make a name for himself.

Afraid for the first time in her life that her family may lose control of The Blues, Big Shirley sends Marquis out of town for his own safety. Marquis takes a detour to New York to see the family of her brother-in-law, LC Duncan. His New York family enlists the help of bounty hunter Curtis Duncan and his highly trained sister, Lauryn Duncan, to help add some muscle and security to their family's struggling business.

Carl Weber is the New York Times bestselling author of more than twenty novels and short stories. He graduated from Virginia State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and has an MBA in marketing from the University of Virginia. A lifelong reader, Weber wanted to write stories about ordinary people who have crazy things happening in their lives. Now, when he's not connecting with readers through his books, Weber is finding new talent for his own publishing company, Urban Books. His latest venture is Urban Books Media, a production company that produces television series based on his bestselling Family Business and Black Hamptons series. Mobile, Alabama native author La Jill Hunt's writing career started as a stress reliever while working as a bill collector for a telephone company. Then, boredom kicked in around age 30 and pushed her into writing for the purpose of entertaining her coworkers. This was her first step toward becoming a published author. In 2003, La Jill tucked her pride, ignored her fears, and stepped out on faith. She allowed God to open a door that would walk her into an instant hit and Essence bestseller, Drama Queen. La Jill was all too familiar with drama as her home life spiraled into an emotionally and physically abusive roller coaster. Searching for an outlet, she continued writing books and has released several novels such as Shoulda Woulda Coulda, Old Habits Die Hard, Too Close for Comfort, and many more. La Jill took a 4-year hiatus and returned even stronger, releasing Midlife Crisis, Imitation of Wife, Private Property, and My Mama's Drama, also co-writing The Family Business and The Black Hamptons books and television series with New York Times bestselling author Carl Weber. La Jill describes her novels as ""Contemporary Women's Fiction with an Urban flair. I am a Black woman, writing modern-day Black stories featuring Black women and Black love.""
