My favorite books unfold with well-told stories about true people who persevered against immense challenges and whose accomplishments made the world a better place. Asian American Women in Science by Tina Cho checks every box, and each of the 15 nonfiction narratives will spark curiosity and inspire young readers to wonder how they will make their mark. An important book on so many levels, it serves as a mirror for children in marginalized groups to see themselves as successful professionals, a window for other children to observe a diverse person in the role of a scientist, and a sliding glass door for all to envision their own endless possibilities. --Vivian Kirkfield, educator and award-winning author of From Here to There: Inventions That Changed the Way the World Moves What a wonderful collection of stories about women who made a positive difference in the world! If you want to be inspired to take on the challenge of tackling a difficult task, reading about their lives and what they accomplished can help give you the courage. --Evelyn B.
