Courtney Spainhower began working in fine art as a ceramicist. However, as a stay-at-home mother, she discovered knitting-the perfect blend of child-friendly and portable while fulfilling her need to keep her fidgeting hands busy and creating utilitarian pieces. She began designing as Pink Brutus Knits full-time in 2009. Since then, Courtney has contributed work to many books, yarn company collections, and magazines, includingInterweave Knits, Knitscene, Berroco, Inc., Taproot,andPom Pom Quarterly. She released her first book,Family-Friendly Knits, in 2015.
