SHELLEY GILL is an author and adventurer who lives in Homer, Alaska. She has raced in the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, sailed to Antarctica, and been a humpback researcher in Prince William Sound for 15 years. She is a public speaker and visits schools all over the world. ERIK BROOKS spent much of his childhood in Anchorage, Alaska. He explored the woods, chased moose from his garden, and was even run over by a dog sled. From his current home in Winthrop, Washington, Erik writes, draws, visits schools and libraries, and plays in the mountains like a wolverine!
